Company History

Agat has been operating in the automotive market since 1991 as an official dealer of GAZ OJSC. Since 2001, AGAT has been the official distributor of GAZ OJSC in Nizhny Novgorod Region and other regions of Russia: Volgograd and Astrakhan Regions.[6][7]

In 1997, the company developed a new line of business — the sale of LADA vehicles. Today, Agat is an official dealer of AVTOVAZ OJSC.[6][7]

Since 2004, AGAT has been an official dealer of Mitsubishi Motors and TagAZ OJSC in Nizhny Novgorod Region.[6][7]

Since 2005, AGAT has been the official sales agent for Scania vehicles in Nizhny Novgorod. In 2006, a Ford dealership opened in Nizhny Novgorod, and Hyundai and GAZ dealerships opened in Volgograd; the company received official dealer status for Toyota and official sales partner status for Lexus in Volgograd.[6][8]

In 2007, new GAZ, Mitsubishi, and Hyundai dealerships opened in Nizhny Novgorod, a Toyota dealership opened in Volgograd, and a GAZ auto center opened in Astrakhan. That same year, the company was granted official dealer status for Scania sales in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. In 2007, Agat launched a new line of business — used car sales in Nizhny Novgorod and Volgograd.[6][7]

In early 2008, AGAT received official dealer status for Geely. That same year, the company reached a fundamentally new level of development by becoming an official dealer for such premium brands as Lexus and Infiniti in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.[6][7]

In 2009, AGAT's LADA division was granted the status of official regional warehouse for AVTOVAZ OJSC in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.[7]

In addition to sales, AGAT has been an official carrier for LLC TD "Russkiye Mashiny" since its very inception. The transport company handles more than 50% of all automotive shipments of GAZ OJSC vehicles to regions across Russia.[6][7]
