Zinoviy Grigoryevich Kolobanov (1913–1994) was a Soviet tank commander, a senior lieutenant, and a participant in the Soviet-Finnish War and the Great Patriotic War. He was born in the selo (a larger village) of Arefino (now in Nizhny Novgorod Region). He is known primarily for the battle of August 19, 1941, near Voiskovitsy, in which the crew of his KV-1 tank knocked out 22 German vehicles — the largest individual tally in the history of Soviet tank warfare. A monument to him has been erected in Victory Park in Nizhny Novgorod.[1][2]
