Yuri Arkadyevich Stankevich (born July 24, 1976, Saratov) is a Russian statesman and politician, a deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation since 2021, and a member of the United Russia party. He is connected with Nizhny Novgorod Region through his work as a deputy: in 2026 he ran in single-member district No. 131 in the region.[1]

Education and Career

Yuri Stankevich holds three higher education degrees: in 1998 he graduated from the Military University as an "officer with higher military-specialized education (jurisprudence)"; in 2010, from the Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation, in finance and credit; and in 2016, from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, in the Executive MBA program "Oil and Gas Business Management. The Modern Executive."[1]

From 1993 to 2001 he served in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. From 2008 to 2021 he worked as deputy chairman of the Committee on Energy Policy and Energy Efficiency of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. At the same time, from 2013 to 2021, he held the post of head of the department for relations with federal authorities and public organizations at PJSC LUKOIL.[1]

Political Activity

In 2002–2003 he served as an expert of the Political Department of the Central Executive Committee of the United Russia party. In 2008–2012 he was a member of the joint commission of the party's General Council and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on socio-economic development. From 2011 to 2021 he was an assistant to deputies of the State Duma of the 6th and 7th convocations.[1]

Since 2021 he has been a deputy of the State Duma of the 8th convocation. Since 2022 he has been the regional coordinator of the United Russia party's federal project "Green Economy." He is a member of the State Duma Committee on Energy: in particular, in 2022 he commented on the use of the TOSER instrument (advanced development territory status) for nuclear territories, and in 2023 he took part in an off-site meeting of deputies in Ozyorsk devoted to advanced development territories.[2]

Nizhny Novgorod District

In the State Duma elections, held over multiple days and concluding on September 21, 2026, Yuri Stankevich ran in single-member district No. 131 of Nizhny Novgorod Region and, according to the Central Election Commission of Russia after processing 90 to 100 percent of the protocols, received the largest number of votes among the candidates in his district. Following the vote count, the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Election Commission declared him the winner with 54.12% of the voters' votes. Turnout in the State Duma elections in Nizhny Novgorod Region was 61.01% — 1,509,089 voters cast ballots; in all five single-member districts of the region, candidates of the United Russia party won.[3][3][1] During the election campaign, he took part in discussions of housing and utilities issues, spoke at the Public Support Headquarters venue, and participated in sports events in Sovetsky District.[1]
