Sorochkin Yuri Naumovich

Yuri Naumovich Sorochkin (7 [20] January 1910 — 2 June 1994) was a Soviet automotive designer, chief designer of the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ). Most of his professional career was tied to GAZ, where he worked from the 1930s onward.^[2]

Work at GAZ

From the 1930s Sorochkin worked as a designer at the Gorky Automobile Plant. By 1938, design work carried out under his direction at GAZ laid the groundwork for the plant's subsequent models. He later became the plant's chief designer.^[2]
