"Vyksa.RF" is an online publication of Vyksa (Nizhny Novgorod Region), operating since March 24, 2006. It positions itself as the town's first officially registered online mass media outlet.[1] The site is available at vykza.ru (the domain is technically spelled with a "z").
History and Status
The publication was founded on March 24, 2006.[1] On February 8, 2013, the site received official mass media status and was entered in the Roskomnadzor register; registration certificate EL No. FS 77-52805.[2]
The "About Us" page names Ivan Vladimirovich Barinov as the founder of the agency; the user agreement names the sole proprietor Ivan Dmitrievich Malyshev as the publisher.[1][3] The editor-in-chief is Yuri Sergeyevich Zobnin.[1]
Activities
The editorial team covers city events in the Vyksa urban okrug: it publishes news, photo and video reports, material on sports and culture, and expert opinions, and also takes part in charitable and social projects.[1]
The agency's audience is concentrated on several social networks: its VKontakte community has 54,000 subscribers, Instagram 22,000, Odnoklassniki 15,000, and Telegram 13,000; its YouTube channel has gathered more than 6 million views.[1]
Recognition
According to the publication itself, "Vyksa.RF" ranks among the top 20 most-cited media outlets in Nizhny Novgorod Region according to Mediametrics, and among the top 10 Nizhny Novgorod websites participating in the NN.RU ranking. The agency has received a commendation from the minister for outstanding achievements in the development of regional journalism.[1] In December 2023, the publication took 17th place in the ranking of Nizhny Novgorod media resources, and based on the results of the first quarter of 2023 it rose to 13th place in the Mediametrics ranking.[1]
