Troshin Vladimir Dmitrievich (born 1931; exact date of death not given in sources) is a Nizhny Novgorod neurologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences (1969), professor (1972). A longtime member of staff of the Nizhny Novgorod State Medical Academy, he is one of the founders of the field of preventive neurology in the region. Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation (2001).[1]
Work at the medical academy
Troshin graduated with honors from the Gorky Medical Institute named after S. M. Kirov in 1956, specializing in pediatrics. He defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Neurological Syndromes of Coronary Disease." From 1975 to 1988 he held the post of vice-rector for research at the Nizhny Novgorod State Medical Academy. From 1988 to 2004 he headed the Department of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Medical Genetics; after that he continued working at the same department as a professor. In 1990 he was awarded the highest qualification category for a neurologist.[1]
Research interests and publications
Troshin's fields of research interest are preventive neurology, integrative medicine and biomedical ethics; he is also developing a spiritual-genetic paradigm of medicine. Troshin has published more than 500 scholarly works, including three monographs and one textbook, and holds 13 Russian Federation patents for inventions.[1]
Titles and awards
Troshin holds the honorary title "Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation" (2001) and bears the title of Honored Professor of NGMA.[1]
