Viktor Vladimirovich Zaryazhko (born 29 September 1992, Novosibirsk) is a Russian professional basketball player, a shooting guard, and a Master of Sport of International Class. In the 2015/16 season he played for the Nizhny Novgorod club BC Nizhny Novgorod in the VTB United League.[3]

Career

He began his professional career in 2009–2012 with Spartak (Vidnoye) in the Moscow suburbs.[3] He then played in succession for Krasnye Krylya (Samara, 2012–2013), Triumph of Lyubertsy (2013–2014), and again for Krasnye Krylya (2014–2015), where he won the FIBA EuroChallenge Cup and the Russian Cup in 2013.[3]

In the 2015/16 season he moved to BC Nizhny Novgorod, while also playing for Temp-SUMZ-UGMK (Revda). In 2016–2017 he played for BC Ryazan and Temp-SUMZ-UGMK.[1] In the 2017/18 season, playing for Spartak-Primorye (Vladivostok), he appeared in 50 Super League 1 games, averaging 14.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.5 steals in 30.2 minutes; he led the team to the championship gold medals and scored at least 20 points in each of the five games of the playoff finals against Samara.[3]

In the summer of 2018 he signed a two-year "1+1" contract with Avtodor of Saratov, which played in the VTB United League and the FIBA Europe Cup. Avtodor president Vladimir Rodionov described Zaryazhko as a player with aggressive defense who feels comfortable in fast-paced basketball, and noted that he had reached his "golden" age.[3] In February 2019 Zaryazhko returned to Spartak-Primorye.[4]

  • 2015, 2017 — two-time semifinalist of the Russian Cup.[3]
  • 2016 — quarterfinalist of the European Cup.[3]

The Nizhny Novgorod Region Basketball Federation lists him as a Candidate Master of Sport (point guard, height 194 cm, weight 92 kg), although other sources record him as holding the title of International Master of Sport.[2][1]
