Podorova Tatyana Petrovna (born August 4, 1927) is a professor at the Department of Economic Theory of Lobachevsky University, and a Doctor of Economic Sciences.
Education
In 1945 she graduated from the Nekrasov Leningrad Pedagogical School; in 1952 — from the Herzen Leningrad Pedagogical Institute, with the qualification of "teacher of Russian language and literature"; also in 1952 — from the Leningrad Institute of Finance and Economics (by correspondence); in 1954 — from Zhdanov Leningrad State University, with the qualification of "economist." Since 1964 she has worked at Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod.
Main areas of research activity
State influence and regulation of economic activity in Russia and internationally (particularly in comparison with the United States and Western Europe), and the economic and social situation of working people (advantages, drawbacks, problems and their solutions).
Publications
Author of 64 scholarly works, including 5 monographs, 8 textbooks (collections of articles), 27 methodological guides and 9 special courses. Under Tatyana Podorova's scholarly supervision, 4 doctoral and 23 candidate dissertations have been defended.
Membership in public organizations
Member of the Academic Council for the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations in economic theory at Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod, and at the Personnel Center of the State Academy. A veteran of the Great Patriotic War, she is a member of the council of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the "Society of Disabled Veterans." She was twice elected a deputy of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma (Council), and headed the Council on Public Education.
Awards
The Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd class, 16 medals (including "For the Defense of Leningrad"), and 5 medals for labor distinction.
