Key facts of his career
From 1959 to 1980 he worked in the symphony orchestra of the Gorky Philharmonic as a bass-trombone soloist. As part of the orchestra he received the title of Laureate of the All-Russian and All-Union review-competitions, and took part in recordings for the All-Union label "Melodiya". Since 1964 he has taught at the Nizhny Novgorod Conservatory, having trained more than 60 musicians. He is the author of published teaching-methodological works and proposals for brass instruments, and a compiler of various competition programs for students of music colleges. He served as a member of the jury of 10 zonal review-competitions for music college students, of review-competitions for military conductors and brass bands of the Volga District of the Internal Troops of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, and as a member of the jury of the 1st and 2nd International Competitions for Brass Instrument Performers (Nizhny Novgorod, 1994 and 1996).
