Kosin Sergey Vasilyevich (born September 25, 1952) — a Nizhny Novgorod business executive, General Director of the Mechta (Dream) sanatorium in the selo of Kriusha, Arzamassky District. Under his leadership, in 2002, a children's health camp called Mechta was opened at the sanatorium, to which GAZ sent the children of its employees every summer[1].
Biography
He graduated from the All-Union Correspondence Institute of Soviet Trade (1983). He worked at the Gorky Automobile Plant as a mechanic and engineer, then at the plant's catering facility — as a merchandise specialist, canteen director, and secretary of the party organization. He participated in the restoration of the church in the selo of Rozhdestvensky Maydan, Arzamassky District.
The Mechta Sanatorium
The sanatorium is located in the selo of Kriusha, Arzamassky District. The summer camp attached to it was opened in 2002: according to the recollections of the senior camp counselor of the first session, the camp was founded by sanatorium General Director S. V. Kosin, the camp's first director G. G. Suvorova, and herself[1]. The legal entity — LLC "Sanatorium Mechta" — was registered on February 12, 2004; the sole owner of the share on record was LLC "UK"[2].
In 2018, the GAZ Group management company informed the plant's trade union committee that it did not plan to use the sanatorium for organizing children's recreation during the summer holidays, and the camp, which had operated for sixteen years, closed. The sanatorium director explained the refusal by the facility's unreadiness: seventy percent of the real estate belonged to the state and was leased year-round, though it was used only during the camp session, and the rent was set to approximately double. The automobile plant promised to send employees' children to other sanatoriums[1].
The sanatorium later went through several directors: from March 2016 the General Director on record was A. A. Chernov, from February 2017 — Ye. I. Dorfman, from July 2018 — T. N. Mikheeva. In November 2020 the company was placed under a receiver, and on November 15, 2022, it was liquidated by order of the arbitration court upon completion of the insolvency proceedings[2].
