Sergey Aleksandrovich Levkov was a Nizhny Novgorod architect who worked in the early twentieth century. He is known as the author of designs for apartment buildings (dokhodny dom) in Nizhny Novgorod executed in the Art Nouveau style.
Buildings
In 1911, Levkov drew up a design for a two-story apartment building with a mezzanine and vaulted cellars for the peasant entrepreneur Vladimir Semyonovich Pryadilov at 23 Alekseevskaya Street. The design was approved that same year by the Construction Department of the Nizhny Novgorod Governorate Administration. The building's main façade was decorated with Art Nouveau ornamental elements; wrought-iron roof railings were installed between the attics. Trade shops were located on the ground floor, and an open passage into the courtyard was left in the central part of the building. The owner placed a sign on the building reading "House of V. S. Pryadilov."[1]
