Topics and Format
The editorial team runs several thematic sections: city news, incidents, economy, opinion, and video. Besides text news, the site has developed a multimedia branch since its founding: the editorial structure included television segments — news roundups, the talk show "Pravo znat" ("The Right to Know"), live broadcasts, and the sections "Mezhdu strok" ("Between the Lines") and "Gorodskiye budni" ("City Weekdays"). The site cooperated with the TV channel Kanal-16 (K16): sarov24.ru carried the channel's program schedule and announced live broadcasts on Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. In the mid-2010s the editorial team published a print magazine, Sarov24: its issues appeared on the site, including the anniversary issue No. 200. Among the site's bylined columns in 2015 were pieces under the headings "Sarovsky kommentator" ("Sarov Commentator") and "Osoboye mneniye" ("Dissenting Opinion"), which published material on city politics, elections to the city duma, and crime reports.[6][6][6][4] The news feed regularly carries items on Sarov's public utilities, road events, and sporting competitions, as well as notes on fraud schemes recorded by the local police.[2] Alongside strictly Sarov topics, the site publishes regional news concerning the whole of Nizhny Novgorod Region: weather warnings from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, decisions of the regional government, and announcements of events in Arzamas and other towns of the region.[1]
The site runs the Telegram channel @sarov24 and publishes a news archive organized by month.[1] Materials from sarov24.ru have been cited by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Nizhny Novgorod Region.[3]
