Putkovo Horse Club (KK "Putkovo") — an equestrian sports club in the suburbs of Nizhny Novgorod, in the village of Putkovo, not far from the Borskaya Floodplain floodplain.

Welcome to the Putkovo Horse Club.

The village of Putkovo has long had stables known for strong, intelligent, and calm horses.

It is pleasant and easy to ride a horse. For beginners there is an experienced instructor; for experienced riders — riding in the fields, jumping obstacles. And what a joy it is to stroke a smart animal's satin back and velvety nose, treat it to a rusk or a carrot, water it, groom it… Your soul fills with a calm that stays with you for a long time afterward. Problems dissolve, and you want to come back again and again. It's easy — a convenient road leads to Putkovo (15 minutes by car from the center of Bor). You will be met, accompanied, and given a proper rest, you and your children. Incidentally, doctors and psychologists note that spending time with horses and horseback rides have a remarkable healing effect, so the Putkovo equestrian sports center is developing a program of lessons for children, including those whose diagnoses are considered severe by medicine. In such cases, hippotherapy is the answer. A horse is an animal that gives love and affection.


« – After the well-known equestrian sports section at the Borskaya farm, familiar to many residents of Bor, fell apart, I dreamed of having my own club. I still have many horse-riding friends, including from Nizhny Novgorod schools, with whom I keep in touch to this day. Thanks to their support, I finally decided to create my own horse club.

At present, five horses are kept in the spacious, warm stalls of the Putkovo Horse Club. The club's focus is family recreation — every weekend young couples, families with children, and grandparents with grandchildren come to us, and children's cheerful laughter rings through the grove all day.

And on weekdays we are visited by those whose weekends are busy.

People come to the club not only to ride a horse, but also to learn to sit properly in the saddle and to handle this noble animal. Also living here at the stable are three guard dogs, two cats, a rabbit, and a hedgehog. Children who come here with their parents have a wonderful opportunity not only to ride horses, but also to spend time with funny little animals.

In our club, anyone can feel like a real boy scout and, at any time of year, cook food over a campfire, set up camp in a real army tent, groom a horse themselves, and ride it.

Schoolchildren are treated to a fascinating story about horses, breeds, and types of equestrian sport, and the program concludes with a demonstration performance including elements of dressage and show jumping.

Location

The club is located 10 km from the town of Bor, in the Ostankino direction, in a beautiful birch grove, and takes its name from the nearby village of Putkovo.

Lessons take place in a lovely little birch grove, and for beginners there is a round pen with a sawdust surface. Even though Nizhny Novgorod can be seen across the fields, you feel completely free from city life.

Charity

Recently the club has established a tradition of hosting children from large and low-income families, as well as children with disabilities. The sponsors of these visits are OOO "Noyabr-PRO" and sole proprietor Braytseva (Linaris tire center); information support is provided by the magazine PERSPEKTIVA.

Arena lessons, horseback rides (forest, the vast expanses of Russian fields, the magnificent Russian Volga), school programs, led-horse rides, stall rentals.

Directions

  • By car: drive to the town of Bor, pass the market square, past the church, and then at the traffic light turn right toward the bus station. From the bus station go straight along Steklozavodskoye Highway toward the Redkino rural council. When you reach the sign for Putkovo, turn right and follow the paved road to the village of Putkovo, then turn right again and go about 800 meters along a dirt road to the stable.

  • For residents of the Upper Part of Nizhny Novgorod, it may be more convenient to get to the town of Bor by hovercraft.

Services and Prices

  • Led-horse ride – 5 laps – 50 rubles.
  • Horse trekking (2 days) – weekdays/weekends 3200/3500 rubles.
  • Arena lessons with an instructor (60 min.) – 300 rubles.
  • Ride into the forest or fields (60 min.) – 400 rubles.
  • Costume photo shoots (60 min.) – daily, from 1000 rubles.
  • Stall rental - 8500 rubles per month. The rental includes three oat feedings a day (with supplements in the evening), hay 4-5 times a day, daily bedding of the stall, a full stall clean-out 3 times a week, daily turnout in the paddocks (turnout time depends on weather conditions).

Horse-trainer (bereitor) services on request. Hoof trimming by a professional farrier.

Fire. Horses Need Help

Good day.

I want to ask for help from sympathetic city residents.

The club was founded in 2009. It gradually developed, and by the end of 2010 it already had 9 horses, its own website, and on December 25 a program to help children with disabilities had started. But on December 29 there was an arson attack. Everything burned down. Two horses survived and are temporarily housed at the Shcherbinki racetrack. On behalf of the club's management, I am asking for any material help at all.

"Dear friends of the club, a huge tragedy has occurred. Life is shattered, only pitiful fragments of our happiness remain. And these fragments are the bright and bitter memories of our lost beloved animals.. The fire that broke out on December 29 at 6:30 in the morning on our club's grounds took the lives of 7 horses (GITARA, EVEREST, SABRINA, BAGIRA, ODISSEYA, BLOKNOT, CHEFRI) and 2 cats (BAKSIK, SERY), grief fills our hearts. They were like children to us. Blessed be their memory. We express our enormous gratitude to all the friends of the club who did not stand aside, who supported us in the days of the tragedy, we are obliged to rebuild our club.
