«Otkrytyi Tekst» (Open Text, opentextnn.ru) is a Nizhny Novgorod historical and documentary internet portal that publishes archival and local-history materials in open access. The portal serves as a platform for bringing sources on the history of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast into scholarly circulation.
Activity
The portal publishes inventories of archival holdings and catalogues of historical collections. In 2019, «Otkrytyi Tekst» brought into scholarly circulation and published in electronic form inventory No. 1 of permanent-storage files for 1865–1918 from fond No. 21, «Office of the Arzamas District Military Commander», held at the State Archive of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast in Arzamas.
Besides archival inventories, the portal hosts scholarly catalogues of museum collections. «Otkrytyi Tekst» has published a joint catalogue of the collection of manuscript and early-printed books of the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum, compiled by P. P. Balakin and I. V. Nesterov on the basis of descriptions from 2001 and 2008.
