Total Dictation 2023

In April 2023, Oksana Krupina served as the dictator at the Nizhny Novgorod venue of the "Total Dictation" event. The event was held at the Gusev Estate — a regional cultural heritage site restored in November 2022 under an agreement between an investor and the Nizhny Novgorod Region government. The venue in the "Zapovednye Kvartaly" (Historic Quarter) district was chosen in part because of the site's literary history: Maxim Gorky once rented a flat there, and Vladimir Korolenko's family lived there for around eight years. For Nizhny Novgorod, this marked the 13th participation in the event; the dictation at the Gusev Estate was the first time the event had been held in the Zapovednye Kvartaly. According to Krupina herself, she takes part in the event every year and had long dreamed of not only writing but also dictating a text in a restored historic building.[2]
