OJSC Nizhny Novgorod Champagne Wine Plant (NZShV) was a champagne-producing enterprise located in Nizhny Novgorod and one of the largest champagne producers in Russia. The plant was founded during the Soviet period — its first director was the construction engineer Ivan Yermolayev, who headed the enterprise in Gorky after many years of work in the food industry.
Financial Position in the 2000s
In the first quarter of 2007, the plant reduced its net loss by a factor of 11.9, to 10,916 thousand rubles, compared with the same period of the previous year. The pre-tax loss was cut in half to 6,398 thousand rubles, and the gross loss fell by a factor of 2.1 to 3,186 thousand rubles. Sales revenue reached 57,116 thousand rubles, 35% higher than a year earlier.
One of the key factors affecting the quarter's results was a forced production stoppage in February–March 2007 lasting 9 days: it was caused by the Federal Tax Service's failure to provide federal excise stamps on time. The loss on sales fell by a factor of 1.9 to 4,129 thousand rubles, while the cost of sales rose by 23% to 60,303 thousand rubles.
Accounts receivable fell by 44% since the beginning of 2007 and stood at 18,743 thousand rubles as of April 1. Accounts payable decreased by 6.5% to 290,288 thousand rubles. The enterprise's authorized capital was 13,900 thousand rubles: 48.6% was owned by LLC Firma Fort, and 45.5% by the plant's general director, Yuri Lisenkov.
