In December 2013, the newspaper Nizhegorodsky Sport (a supplement to Nizhegorodskaya Pravda) held its traditional poll of regional media representatives on the results of the sports year for the 13th time. Forty-four journalists took part in the vote, and 40 names were put forward. Pavlov received 73 points (16 first places, 10 second places, 5 third places), ahead of relay world champion Tatyana Firova (57 points) and basketball player Semyon Antonov (17 points).[3]

On December 31, 2013, Pavlov reached the semifinal of the All-Russian sports program Golden Pedestal on the Russia 2 channel, in which viewers chose the country's best athlete of the year in a live broadcast, but he did not make the top three.[2]
