Ignerski Michal (Michał Ignerski; born August 13, 1980) is a Polish professional basketball player, a 207 cm (6 ft 9 in) small forward. In the 2011/12 season he played for the Nizhny Novgorod club "Nizhny Novgorod" in the VTB United League and the Professional Basketball League (BEKO PBL), where he was named MVP of January 2012.[1]

Playing in Nizhny Novgorod

In August 2011, "Nizhny Novgorod" signed Ignerski, thereby completing its recruitment work on the transfer market — head coach Zoran Lukić noted at the time that the signing filled a needed position in the roster.[1] In January 2012, Ignerski was named the most valuable player of the month in the VTB United League; by his own account, this recognition gave him extra motivation.[1]

In March 2012, the club traded Ignerski to "Lokomotiv-Kuban": "Nizhny Novgorod" received Aleksandar Brezec. Andrey Vedishchev, commenting on the deal, expressed hope that Michal would show himself more brightly at his new club. Lokomotiv coach Božidar Maljković, for his part, pointed to the need to adjust the player's defensive play. Ignerski himself called the move to Lokomotiv the next step in his career development.[1]

Later career

After Lokomotiv, Ignerski played for Italy's Dinamo Sassari (from summer 2012), Rome's Lottomatica (autumn 2013), France's Le Mans (from August 2014), and Italy's Cantù (from February 2016). In January 2014, while already a player for Samara's "Krasnye Krylya", he gave an interview in which he spoke of the team's steady progress toward its goal; coach Sergey Bazarevich described him as a smart basketball player whom the club had been lacking since the start of the season.[1] In March 2019, Ignerski moved to Poland's Anwil.[1]
