Lyceum No. 87 named after L. I. Novikova is a municipal budgetary general education institution of Nizhny Novgorod, located at 14a Krasnykh Zor Street. The lyceum was founded in 1989.[3] The lyceum's website at lyceum87.nnov.ru has been operating since at least February 2005, when the first snapshot was recorded in the Wayback Machine archive.[2] Since May 31, 2019, the lyceum has held the status of a base (support) school of the Russian Academy of Sciences, conferred by Protocol No. 1 of the meeting of the RAS Commission for Scientific and Organizational Support of RAS Base Schools.[1]

Activities

The lyceum runs two developmental programs for preschoolers, "School of Joy" and "Rodnichok." Alongside its core educational programs, the lyceum offers an adapted program for children with developmental delays, as well as an adaptive program for students with musculoskeletal disorders.[4] From the 7th grade, lyceum students study mathematics at an advanced level, and from the 8th grade, algebra and geometry.[4][1] In 2005, the European College operated at the institution jointly with Lobachevsky University (the Faculty of International Relations and the Faculty of Law); its graduates received secondary vocational education with a diploma in the fields of "Advertising," "Tourism," "Publishing," and "Law Enforcement."[2] At the same time, a teacher professional development program was carried out based on the "School of Health" concept, which studied the relationship between the educational process and students' health.[2] The building has an access control and management system, with entry through card-operated turnstiles. In 2025, the lyceum was awarded the "High Culture of Assessment" quality mark following an evaluation by the Federal Institute for Education Quality Assessment.[3] The lyceum library holds a collection of more than 66,123 items, including fiction, subject-specific and instructional publications, and reference and bibliographic materials.[3][1]
