A settlement and railway platform in Sormovo, in the northern part of the district. In the past, a village known since the 16th century that became part of the town of Sormovo in 1925. It was named after the Mordvin name Kapas.
The owner of the village was Kapas Khabalshchikov, who, as is known from documents, went to court in 1542 against Terenty Shumenev, nicknamed Soroma, over the border river Khalezeva. In the territory of Koposovo there is a parish of the Church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity, part of the Sormovo Deanery District of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. According to tradition, the Church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity was founded by St.
Sergius of Radonezh in 1365 during his visit to Nizhny Novgorod: the saint's route from Moscow ran through the village of Likharevo along the old highway. According to parish tradition, during the visit of Sergius of Radonezh a plague epidemic was raging in the Nizhny Novgorod lands; the saint prayed and consecrated the springs near the village, after which the residents who drank water from the spring were healed, and a church was built in memory of this event. In the territory of the parish, besides the church itself, there are a chapel of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity with the holy spring of St. Sergius of Radonezh and bathhouses for ritual immersion.
Before becoming part of Sormovo, the settlement was called the selo (a larger village) of Likharevo and was part of Balakhna Uyezd of Nizhny Novgorod Governorate.
