Head of a leading scientific school of Russia, "Galactic and extragalactic radio astronomy. Interstellar medium" (grants 1997–1999, 2000–2005). Founded scientific directions in radio astronomy — measuring the intensity and spectrum of the cosmic microwave (relic) background radiation of the Universe, the evolution of radio emission from supernova remnants; and in radiophysics — radiometry of the temperature film layer of the sea surface, precise absolute measurements of the intensity of intrinsic radio emission of natural media and cosmic objects. Holds 4 author's certificates for inventions. Author of 306 published scientific works, including 8 textbooks. Under his scientific supervision, 6 candidate dissertations have been defended. Chairman of the dissertation council for the defense of doctoral dissertations at FSBI "NIRFI" of the Federal Agency for Science. From 1997 to 2000 — professor at the Department of Radio Astronomy and Radio Wave Propagation (part-time). Member of the Scientific Council on Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
