Ivan Belov is a Nizhny Novgorod artist, creator of street sculptures and art objects. He gained wide recognition as the creator of the metal sculpture "Mirazh," made for the summer "Vyksa Festival."

The "Mirazh" Sculpture

The art object "Mirazh" was created by Ivan Belov specifically for the Vyksa Festival and installed in the workers' settlement of Doschatoe, Vyksunsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Region. The structure stands 3.5 meters tall, weighs approximately half a tonne, is made from hexagonal stainless steel rods, and is situated on an elevated area near a former dam.

According to the artist's concept, the sculpture serves as a reminder of Doschatinskoye Pond, which disappeared after a dam breach in 2000. The owner valued the art object at nearly 428,000 rubles.

About two months after its installation, the sculpture was cut from its pedestal and stolen. In September 2026, criminal proceedings were opened in Vyksunsky District for theft; the object was found at a suspect's premises during a search.
