Key facts of his career
Upon graduation he was assigned to the Gorky Automobile Plant, where he worked as a design engineer, senior design engineer, and head of the test station. In 1944 he was sent to the 3rd Ukrainian Front as the plant's representative – an inspector for internal combustion engines of combat vehicles. He was the founder and head of the Central Research Laboratory of Engines at the Gorky Automobile Plant, where under his leadership numerous studies were carried out and introduced into production aimed at improving engine quality. He completed his postgraduate studies under the guidance of the leading Soviet scholar in the field of engine design, Professor G. V. Trinkler.
In 1953 he received his candidate's degree, and in 1978 his doctoral degree in engineering sciences. In 1975 he was elected head of the "Internal Combustion Engines" department at the Gorky Polytechnic Institute, while at the same time serving as scientific director of the Central Research Laboratory of Engines at GAZ. He published more than 200 scientific and methodological works, including 9 books and monographs, 6 pamphlets, and a number of author's certificates. Under his supervision 15 candidate's dissertations were defended, and he provided scholarly support for the defense of 9 doctoral dissertations. He was one of the founders of a scientific school in the field of improving the reliability of automobile engines.
Membership in public, scientific and other organizations
Member of the Technical Council of the Gorky Automobile Plant, member of the coordinating Council on Engine Building under the State Committee for Science and Technology for awarding "Marks of Quality" at GAZ and ZMZ.
Awards
10 government awards, awarded a silver medal of the USSR Exhibition of Economic Achievements (VDNKh), his name entered in the honor books of GAZ and GPI.
Hobbies
A remarkable poetic gift, he published 2 collections of poetry, and played the piano beautifully.
