Samochkin Hero Street is a street in the Leninsky District of Nizhny Novgorod. Its postal code is 603034.[3]

Location and Buildings

The street begins at the Church of St. Alexis (building no. 2) and extends to Lenin Avenue (building no. 33 on the avenue), and it also connects with Kirovskaya Street.[2] The house numbering covers a wide range: buildings nos. 2 through 32, including those with the letter suffixes A and B.[3] The residential buildings are predominantly Soviet-era five-story panel blocks; for example, building no. 5 was built in 1973, has five stories, and contains 60 apartments.[1] The street's housing stock is managed by the Leninsky District Housing Management Company.[1]

2021 Road Repairs

In 2021, the street was included in the program for repairing the regional and local road network. The work covered the section from the Church of St. Alexis to building no. 33 on Lenin Avenue, including the connection to Kirovskaya Street — the total length of the repaired section was 1.133 km, and the repaired area was 13,721 sq. m (roadway — 12,142 sq. m, sidewalks — 1,579 sq. m). The contractor was TekhStroy LLC, and the contract value was 14,648,371 rubles. The work was completed by August 3, 2021. In the 2020s, part of Samochkin Street was included in a comprehensive area development zone (KRT): within the boundaries of Druzhby, Snezhnaya, and Entuziastov streets and the Rzhavka River in the Leninsky District, the demolition of 39 dilapidated and unsafe buildings is planned, including two-story cinder-block and wooden houses built in the 1940s–1950s on Samochkin Street.

The development of the CDT site (comprehensive development of territories) is being carried out by the specialized developer Proekt-S-35, affiliated with the federal developer Samolyot Group; at an auction in September 2023, the company acquired the territory for 190 million rubles against a starting price of about 18 million rubles. In October 2024, demolition of buildings began on the CDT site: on October 1, building No. 33 on Druzhby Street was demolished, and on October 3, buildings No. 7 and No. 9 on Entuziastov Street; in addition to residential buildings, a polyclinic, a utility building, a store, and an office building are slated for demolition. Under the CDT project, apartment buildings with a total new construction area of 229,200 sq. m, a kindergarten for 320 children, a school for 1,100 students, and a polyclinic are planned to be built on the site of the demolished buildings; the project is scheduled to take 10 years.[4][4][4][4][2]
