Key facts of his career
For nearly forty years, from 1940 until the last day of his life, he worked at the Gorky Polytechnic Institute, now the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev (NSTU). After completing his postgraduate studies, he held the positions of senior lecturer, associate professor, and professor, and occupied the high administrative posts of dean of the faculty and head of department. In 1948 he defended his candidate's dissertation, and in 1951 he was confirmed in the academic rank of associate professor. He was the founder of a scientific field studying the actual load conditions of automobile assemblies, units, and parts. For almost a quarter of a century, from 1950 to 1974, he was the permanent dean of the mechanical faculty and, later, of the mechanical engineering faculty (from its founding in 1958). He served as chairman of the dissertation council of the mechanical and mechanical engineering faculties from 1963 to 1974. Through persistent effort, he achieved the opening, in 1963, of the "Automobile Transport" department within the faculty and became its first head.
