On August 11, 2026, the Nizhny Novgorod District Court extended the pretrial detention of Usik Petrosyan, general director of OOO Nizhavtodorstroy — through October 13, 2026 inclusive.[1][2]

Charges and case circumstances

Petrosyan was detained on February 19, 2026.[1] Investigators charged him with bribery: according to investigators, in 2024 he passed 7.8 million rubles through an intermediary, which were used to pay for the renovation of the apartment of Andrei Levdikov, then general director of the municipal institution "Main Directorate for Construction and Repair of the Metro, Bridges, and Road Networks in the City of Nizhny Novgorod" (GUMMiD).[3][4] Investigators believe Petrosyan sought in this way to ensure the unimpeded acceptance of work performed by Nizhavtodorstroy under municipal road contracts, as well as general patronage in office matters.[2]

After his detention, Petrosyan was placed in custody. On August 11 the court considered a motion to extend this measure of restraint and kept him under arrest.[3] The decision was confirmed by the Joint Press Service of Courts of General Jurisdiction of Nizhny Novgorod Region.[2]

Fate of the case's second defendant

Andrei Levdikov, in whose interest the bribe was allegedly passed, was convicted in mid-June 2026 in a case of receiving bribes on an especially large scale and fraud. The court sentenced him to five years in a strict-regime penal colony.[1] In January 2026, Anatoly Ageev was appointed the new general director of the municipal institution GUMMiD.[2]

Related criminal case

In parallel with the bribery case, a separate criminal case was opened against OOO Nizhavtodorstroy itself, related to the non-payment of wages to the company's employees.[1]
