eventnn.ru (EventNN) is a Nizhny Novgorod portal about celebrations and events: a catalog of event organizers, venues, and performers, plus news, an events calendar, and articles on organizing celebrations in Nizhny Novgorod [5]. The site has been operating since 2006 [2] and is included in the NN Top100 traffic ranking of Nizhny Novgorod websites [10].

History

The domain eventnn.ru was registered in December 2005 [1]. The earliest surviving copy of the site dates from June 29, 2006: under the heading "EventNN.ru" it carried the latest news and articles. The news covered the region's first sailing regatta, the "Volga Cup 2006" on the Gorky Reservoir, the "Dopolnitelny 38" rock festival in Dzerzhinsk, and the arrival of Frédéric Beigbeder in Nizhny Novgorod; the articles were about holding events in hotels and about team building; the footer read "Copyright © 2006 eventnn.ru" [2].

By January 2011 the site had come to be called "Organization and Holding of Celebrations, Family and Children's Parties, Corporate Events, and Active Leisure in Nizhny Novgorod" — the name it still bears today. The menu now included a "Celebration Map of Nizhny Novgorod," a forum, reviews, contests, and a "TOP Event Agencies" section, while the catalog was divided into agencies, hosts, and performers, and event venues ranged from restaurants and nightclubs to recreation centers and sanatoriums of the Region [3]. In January 2016 the site presented itself as the "Portal of the Events and Celebrations Industry in Nizhny Novgorod" with the motto "Your guide to the world of celebration!"; registered users could add services, promotions, events, listings, articles, job openings, and résumés to it themselves [4].

At present, the site header lets visitors choose a city — besides Nizhny Novgorod, these are Yekaterinburg and Kirov; the site is marked as intended for visitors over 16 [9].

Site content

The "About the Project" page describes EventNN as a portal devoted to the event industry of Nizhny Novgorod, whose goal is to present a picture of the market for event services in the city and to connect celebration organizers with clients. The portal offers a thematic catalog of companies, in which they edit their own information; news and articles about organizing celebrations, weddings, and business events; a calendar of celebrations; an event request form, which the portal forwards to suitable companies in the catalog; and a section of job openings and résumés [5].

The site also published material about the industry itself: in April 2015 it posted a photo report on the announcement, in Nizhny Novgorod, of the results of the fourth regional competition of Volga Region event projects, "Event-Breakthrough 2014"; the site's competitions section also lists the Volga Region event project competitions of 2011, 2012, and 2013 [6]. The site's articles also include local-history pieces: in March 2014 EventNN told the history of the "Mir Muzyki" (World of Music) store on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya and the origin of the city nickname "The Gray Horse" — from the students' name for the restaurant "Vecherniy," after the saloon in the film "The Magnificent Seven" [7].

Place in the Local Internet

EventNN's pieces circulated on other Nizhny Novgorod sites: in May 2013 the news feed of the portal "1ый БЕСкультурный" retold them with the credit "based on materials from eventnn.ru" — covering the "Minin's Road" bicycle ride, the laying-out of the Pechersky Orthodox Park by the Rowing Canal, and the street shadow theater on Museum Night [8].

According to a measurement of the NN Top100 rating as of October 6, 2026, eventnn.ru ranks 89th: 2,060 visitors from the region over 31 days, per the LiveInternet counter [10].
