Elena Konstantinovna Elyushkina (b. 1963) — head of the "Tree of Life" ("Drevo Zhizni") creative workshop (restoration of traditional techniques of working with wood and birch bark, preservation of Russian Orthodox culture, study of its origins).

Key facts of her work
Member of the Union of Artists of Russia and of the International Association of Fine Arts under UNESCO since 1997. Taught at the A. S. Pushkin School of Arts and Crafts. Since 1994 she has practiced carved icon-making on birch bark, with the blessing of Archimandrite Father Kirill Pokrovsky, superior of the Annunciation Monastery for men. She is an artist of the Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas Diocese. She is actively engaged in exhibition work. Exhibitions of her icons and decorative panels on Slavic themes are regularly held in Russia and abroad. Her works can be found in many churches (the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, the Seraphim-Diveyevo Convent, the Blagoveshchensk Men's Monastery and others), in believers' homes, and in private collections and museum collections (Russia, Lithuania, Canada).
Awards
Certificates of appreciation and diplomas from Russian and foreign exhibition and cultural organizations. Both individual works by the artist and her overall work promoting Slavic folk art have been recognized.
