Elyushkina Elena Konstantinovna (born 1963) is the head of the "Tree of Life" creative workshop (restoration of traditional techniques of working with wood and birch bark, preservation of Russian Orthodox culture, and study of its origins).

Key Facts of Her Career
Member of the Union of Artists of Russia and of the international association of fine arts under UNESCO since 1997. She taught at the Pushkin School of Arts and Crafts. Since 1994 she has carved icons in birch bark, with the blessing of the abbot of the Blagoveschenskiy Muzhskoy Monastery, Archimandrite Father Kirill Pokrovsky. She is an artist of the Nizhny Novgorod Orthodox Diocese. She is actively engaged in exhibition work. Since 1996 she has taken part in regional art exhibitions; in 1998 and 2003 she exhibited works at the zonal "Bolshaya Volga" exhibitions, and in 1997 at an all-Russian exhibition in Moscow. Exhibitions of icons and decorative panels on Slavic themes are held regularly in Russia and abroad.
Solo exhibitions took place in Nizhny Novgorod in 2000 and 2001, as well as in cities in Germany and France between 1997 and 1999. Her works can be found in many churches (the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, the Diveevo Monastery, the Blagoveschenskiy Monastery, and others), in prayer houses of believers, and in private Collections and museum collections (Russia, Lithuania, Canada).
Awards
Letters of gratitude and diplomas from Russian and foreign exhibition and cultural organizations. Both her individual works and her efforts to promote Slavic folk art as a whole have been recognized.
