Ecograd LLC is a Nizhny Novgorod company; Ecograd LLC was registered on 19 March 2013 (OGRN 1135252001390, INN 5245020451); its charter capital is 10,000 rubles.[5] It owns municipal infrastructure facilities in the settlement of Novinki (Novinki Selsoviet, Nizhny Novgorod Region). It became widely known after an environmental incident in 2025 and the ensuing legal proceedings.

Sewage spill in 2025

In 2025, a sewage spill onto the surrounding terrain occurred near the SNT (horticultural partnership) "Kolos" in Novinki. According to the administration of the Novinki Selsoviet, the cause was a breach at a sewage pumping station owned by Ecograd LLC.[1] The contaminated area exceeded 2,400 square meters.[2]

The spill was documented by inspectors of the Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Mordovia. Following the inspection, the company was held administratively liable for violating environmental protection requirements.[3] Specialists of the agency assessed the damage done to the soil: the amount exceeded 1 million rubles. Ecograd LLC refused to compensate the damage voluntarily.[1]

Court ruling

The Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor filed a lawsuit with the Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The court found the defendant's guilt proven and the calculation of the environmental damage documented, and ordered Ecograd LLC to pay the entire amount claimed — over 1 million rubles.[1][2] The decision was issued in September 2026. Since 3 September 2019, Ecograd LLC has been declared insolvent (bankrupt) and is undergoing bankruptcy proceedings; Maksim Valeriyevich Belov has been appointed as the receiver.[5][3]
