Dmitry Vladimirovich Raskopin (born 16 August 1971) is a Nizhny Novgorod media manager who, between 2011 and 2013, successively headed the city Department of Public Relations, the largest regional media holding "MS Holding," and the Volga TV Company.[2]

Work in the Nizhny Novgorod city administration

From January 2011, Raskopin headed the media relations department of the Nizhny Novgorod city administration, and later took the post of director of the Department of Public Relations and Information of the city administration.[3] On 12 December 2011 he left this post of his own accord.[3]

MS Holding media holding

In December 2011, Raskopin took charge of a newly formed media holding uniting under a single brand the assets of Dmitry Arzhanov, which had been acquired over the preceding two years. Commenting on his decision, he called Arzhanov's offer "a far more ambitious and incomparably more interesting task."[1] In early 2012 the structure received its official name, "MS Holding." The holding came to include the Volga television company, Rendezvous radio station and "Business FM", NTA-Privolzhye (nta-nn.ru), the "Birzha Plus" publishing house (which put out several print periodicals), Birzha.ru, the "Media Strike Hall" press center, and the multidisciplinary information-and-consulting center "Media Strike."[4] The holding's headquarters were located in the International Trade Center on Varvarskaya Street.[1]

In May 2012, the "Media Strike Hall" press center hosted the holding's presentation as part of the international conference "Russian Journalism of the 21st Century: Content and Formats of Modern Media." About 200 journalists, political scientists, and public figures from more than 50 regions of Russia attended the event. Guests included the chairman of the Union of Journalists of Russia, Vsevolod Bogdanov, the editor-in-chief of "Literaturnaya Gazeta," Yuri Polyakov, and others. Raskopin read out a welcoming address from the head of the city administration, Oleg Kondrashov, and spoke about the history of the holding, noting that its main task was "to preserve and develop the best traditions of Nizhny Novgorod journalism."[4]

Volga television company

On 8 June 2012, by decision of the board of directors, Raskopin was appointed general director of the Volga television company, one of the holding's key assets: the powers of the previous head, Sergei Laptev, were terminated, and leadership of the "MS Holding" information-and-analytics center was handed to Denis Moskvin.[5] Raskopin served as general director of Volga for less than a year — from June 2012 to May 2013 — after which, according to available information, his return to "Media Strike Hall" was planned.[2]

Note. Sources disagree on the patronymic: the Global52 portal gives "Vladimirovich" and a birth year of 1971, whereas "Komsomolskaya Pravda" reported in 2012 the patronymic "Vasilyevich" and a birth year of 1977.[2][5]
