The NNOV.RU corporate blog was the blog and photo archive of the Nizhny Novgorod portal NNOV.RU, published at nnov.nnov.org. The company wrote there about its own services and about the life of its newsroom: announcements of new sections of the portal sit alongside photo reports from corporate trips and city contests.[1]

What they wrote about

The blog was opened as a group on the portal's own blogging platform and described itself thus: "Here we write about new developments, services and simply interesting things connected with the www.nnov.ru project".[1] It was from here that the portal announced the launch of street panoramas of Nizhny Novgorod — more than ten thousand interlinked views at www.nnov.ru/pano/ — on 29 December 2009.[2] The same blog carried "Outdoor advertising of WWW.NNOV.RU"[3], "Rating of personalities on WWW.NNOV.RU"[4], "New design, new front page"[5] and "Rules for keeping blogs on www.nnov.ru"[6].

The post tags show what the portal lived by: "Miss Internet", "contest", "corporate party", "prizes", "tablet", "trip", "Panorama", "rating", "communities" — and next to them nginx, mysql, actionscript and "Debian and Apache".

The photo archive

Pictures of the newsroom and its trips are gathered in three albums:[1]

  • "NNOV.RU corporate party, Podsolnukhi resort (31 August — 2 September 2012)" — 187 photographs
  • "NNOV.RU brings people together" — 105 photographs
  • "Battle of the Portals 2012" — 69 photographs

What became of it

The blog entries break off in 2012, and the portal's own latest material dates to 2014. Today www.nnov.ru hosts a web studio, while the address nnov.nnov.org still opens and shows the old entries, though no new ones appear. The photographs and texts are preserved in the web archive.
