Children's Infectious Diseases Hospital No. 8 was a specialized medical institution in Nizhny Novgorod that provided care to children with infectious diseases. It was located at Oktyabrskoy Revolyutsii Street, 66a, building 1, on the 1st and 2nd floors of the building.[2][3] In October 2026, it was announced that the hospital would be merged into Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital No. 23.[1]

Operations

The hospital operated around the clock and provided specialized pediatric infectious disease care to the city's residents.[2] At the time the reorganization was announced, the institution continued to operate normally and admitted patients in full.[1]

Reorganization

On October 3, 2026, the Ministry of Health of Nizhny Novgorod Region announced that the hospital would be merged into Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital No. 23 as part of a comprehensive modernization of the infectious disease care system in Nizhny Novgorod.[1] The agency stated that the reorganization did not envisage ending or reducing specialized medical care for children. The reorganization did not provide for staff cuts or a reduction in the availability of specialized pediatric hospital beds.[4][1]
