"Blago" is a Nizhny Novgorod architecture studio specializing in the design of public space improvement (urban landscaping). The studio states that it has been in business for more than four years and has carried out projects in more than 14 cities in Russia.[1]

Activities

The studio develops public space improvement projects at several stages, from pre-concept and concept to design documentation and working documentation (stages P and RD). In 2026, the studio organized a summer educational camp, "Camp in BLAGO" ("Lagerʹ vo BLAGO"), for architecture students: the program ran online from June 29 to July 24, 2026, and included lectures, critiques, and hands-on practice in landscaping design, from initial decisions to the final submission. Participation was free; 10 people were selected by competition for a format with curator support, and the rest could join as listeners. The camp program was divided into four weeks: introduction and fundamentals, analysis and design, specifications and budget, and presentation and defense.

At the end, participants received a mini-project for their portfolios, completed following the logic of a real design process.[3][3] According to the studio, the concept package includes: functional zoning, a master plan, diagrams of surfacing, planting, and lighting, principles for placing small architectural forms (street furniture), a design code for the area, a wayfinding system, usage scenarios, climate comfort solutions, photorealistic visualizations, and a summary budget estimate.[1]

As its working principles, the studio lists compliance with current standards (GOST and SNiP), a three-stage budget estimate throughout the design process, weekly meetings with the client, and recording of revisions in the contract at no additional charge.[1]
