Aubrey Dawkins is an American professional basketball player (height 198 cm, weight 93 kg) who played for BC Pari Nizhny Novgorod in the 2024/2025 VTB United League season.[2]
Career before joining Pari NN
In the 2023/2024 season, Dawkins played for the Montenegrin club SC Derby (Studentski Centar) in the Adriatic League. In 28 games he averaged 10.4 points per game, shooting 46.9% on two-pointers and 39.7% on three-pointers, along with 2.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 24.4 minutes on the court.[2]
The season at Pari Nizhny Novgorod
In August 2024, Dawkins signed a contract with the Nizhny Novgorod club through the end of the 2024/2025 season and became the last of the team's five foreign players signed before the start of the championship.[1][4] He wore number 24 for the club.[2]
Head coach Sergey Kozin described Dawkins as a versatile shooter: according to him, the player has an excellent shot, can score both off the dribble from a standstill and coming off a screen, and, when necessary, can play at the shooting guard and small forward positions as well as power forward — to speed up the game.[2]
One of the standout moments of the season was the home game against the reigning VTB United League champions, CSKA. With Pari NN trailing by the narrowest of margins (74–75) in the closing moments, Dawkins hit the decisive three-pointer and secured a 77–75 win for the Nizhny Novgorod side. He finished the game with 21 points and 5 rebounds, becoming the team's best player.[3]
