The Arzamas State Archive was Arzamas (disambiguation) and held records of organizations and institutions of the Arzamas region. It was subsequently incorporated into State Archive of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" (Arzamas branch).
Activities
The Archive built collections of records from institutions that had operated on Arzamas Uyezd and District. Among its acquisitions were materials from the Yekaterininsky Women's Gymnasium of Arzamas: the documents were accepted for storage on 2 October 1933, the source of acquisition has not been established; the collection was assigned the number 118 and comprises 1,852 storage units.
In 1938, the Archive received records of the State Stud Farm of Pochinkovskiy District of Gorky Kray — already processed, with an inventory of 122 storage units; the collection was assigned the number 165.
Current Status
The collections held in the Archive have been transferred to the State Archive of Nizhny Novgorod Region (Arzamas), operating as a state казённое institution. Among the collections now held there are those of the Yekaterininsky Women's Gymnasium and the State Stud Farm of Pochinkovskiy Uyezd.
