Main career facts
He worked as a technologist at the quality-control (OTK) testing station, then as a leading automobile tester and head of the road-testing group of the design and experimental department of GAZ. In 1938 he took part in All-Union automobile races, where he set two All-Union speed records. In 1940 he graduated from the institute and received the qualification of mechanical engineer. During the war years he worked as head of the aircraft-engine testing station at the Gorky Aviation Plant. Upon joining GPI in 1945 and until 1953, he worked as head of the Scientific-Production Department (NPO) of the Gorky Industrial Institute. In 1947, under his leadership, the NIL (research laboratory) for the Mechanization of Labor-Intensive Processes (OKB RALSNEMG) was opened. 1956–1960 — exploration of the North and South Poles of the Earth. In 1972 he founded the Department of "Construction and Road Machinery" at the Mechanical Faculty of GPI, which he headed until 1984.
