Savelyeva Aleksandra Yakovlevna (born September 28, 1926) is a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a home front worker and labor veteran, and a resident of Nizhny Novgorod. On September 28, 2026, she celebrated her 100th birthday.

Biography

She was born into a large family in the selo of Bakshevo in the Dalnekonstantinovsky District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.[1] She completed six grades of secondary school and helped her parents with the household.[1] During the Great Patriotic War she began her working life at a sewing and rigging factory, where she worked for a total of 49 years, until her retirement.[2] For her service in labor she was awarded the medals "Veteran of Labor" and "Home Front Worker," as well as honorary certificates.[1]

In 1961 she married; the marriage produced two daughters. By her hundredth birthday, Aleksandra Yakovlevna had two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.[2]

Anniversary Celebrations

The celebration took place in Nizhny Novgorod on September 28, 2026. Staff of the Moskovsky District administration and of the social protection department came to congratulate the guest of honor.[1] Vladimir Kropotin, head of the Moskovsky District administration, presented the jubilarian with commemorative gifts.[2]

Asked about the secret of her longevity, Aleksandra Yakovlevna said: "The secret is simple: kindness and hard work. Never speak ill of anyone, never hold a grudge, work hard and never be afraid of any job."[1]
